When Can Businesses Reopen in San Diego County?

One of the many difficulties of COVID-19 has been enduring long periods of business restrictions… and in some cases, business closures. To be sure, these restrictions have all been in the best interest of public health. But, for those who simply want to enjoy shopping at their favorite stores or dining at their favorite restaurants, it has been more than a little frustrating.
The good news is that Gov. Newsom has announced a full plan for business reopenings in California. In fact, some counties have already seen a major decrease in COVID restrictions, coinciding with decreased case numbers.
For now, San Diego County remains a high-risk county, which means we still have a number of restrictions in place. However, we are very hopeful about the economic recovery plan. And, we are happy to note that there are still many ways you can enjoy your time here at Merge Carmel Valley, all while upholding the proper COVID safety instructions.
Current Guidelines for San Diego County
Here are the latest stipulations for our area:
California’s statewide stay-at-home order has been lifted as of the end of January.
The statewide mask mandate remains in full effect.
Retail stores are open with limited capacity (50 percent for grocery stores, 25 percent for most others).
Dine-in restaurants are open for takeout and outside seating.
Medical and dental offices are open, so long as proper COVID precautions are taken.
Gyms are open, but only for outside classes.
Hair salons and nail salons are open indoors, with appropriate modifications.
