Copa Vida Café Reopens - May 2020

Darren Levitt

When the Shelter-In-Place mandate was announced, the very first thing I did was grab a 1LB bag of Copa Vida’s proprietary, locally roasted coffee beans.

It was the Guji Uraga, Ethiopia roast, described as Magnolia, Nectarine, Lemon Curd on the label. I just know that both my wife and I really like this one, so having a bag was crucial to our Covid-19 survival.

During the last month or so, Copa Vida determined their best and safest course of action was to close its doors at Carmel Valley. But good news, fellow caffeinators, Copa Vida has pivoted their business strategy and they are reopening their doors to serve the local community again!

Craft coffee, artisanal teas, tasty morsels and delectables - it’s all coming back.

And so is that magical shelf where they stock the 1LB bags of roast coffee beans to take home… and thank goodness, too. My bag at home is almost gone.
